Good news: I'll be joining the spring cohort of Co.Lab starting tomorrow. Over the next six weeks, I'll be working with a team to develop and ship a new product from the ground up.
I stumbled upon Co.Lab a few weeks ago in a booklet featured on Product Hunt, which showcased stories of people breaking into tech careers from non-traditional backgrounds. One of them was a concert pianist. I knew right away that this was a community I wanted to be part of, and applied immediately to join their developer track.
Opportunities like this are unfortunately few and far in between for people outside the US, even in today's world of remote work, which is why I'm especially excited about it. I'm looking forward to putting my skills to the test and getting a more refined sense of my strengths, weaknesses, and interests within the wide umbrella of software development—and frankly, just meeting some smart people.
Naturally, to make the most of the experience, I'll be writing about it here as regularly as I can. Stay tuned!
